http://www.paris.org/Kiosque/apr96/picpus.html is an article about the Congregation's cemetery on the Rue de Picpus in Paris.   Buried there are Martyrs of the Commune, the Founders of our Congregation, and the Marquis de La Fayette who fought with the Continental Army during the American Revolution.  Each year, on the Fourth of July, the United States Ambassador to France visits the cemetery to lay a wreath and renew and American Flag in La Fayette's memory.

http://www.google.com/search?q=Father+Damien&hl=en&lr= is a Google search on Blessed Father Damien de Veuster.  He was beatified on Pentecost Sunday, 1995 by His Holiness, Pope John Paul II.  Shortly after his death, he was given the title "Martyr of Charity" and "Apostle to the Lepers."  Pope John Paul II gave him the title "Servant of Humanity."
