Brother Brian Guerrini, ss.cc., is a member of the USA West Coast Province. Born in Indiana of Italian and German descent, Brian has a Bachelors Degree in Meteorology, a Master of Divinity and is a computer geek. He made his profession as an SS.CC. religious in 1987. He has served in a series of assignments on the faculties of St. Joseph-Notre Dame High School in Alameda, California, and Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. At these schools, he served as librarian, computer instructor, yearbook advisor, religion teacher and technology coordinator. He also served as coordinator of religious education and pastoral associate at St. Louis Parish in Cathedral City, California. He was on the faculty of Damien High School in La Verne, California, where he was librarian and taught a course in web page design and assisted in the Provincial Office while at Damien. At St. Matthew’s Parish in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the spiritual director for the men’s “Christ Renews His Parish” retreat teams for five years. Bro. Brian describes his duties at CIM in Artesia and the Pecos Valley and beyond.

My main ministry  in New Mexico is serving the three parishes and two missions along the Pecos River as Coordinator of Religious Education. Although my main responsibility is at Our Lady of Grace Parish in Artesia, I do what I can for the R.E. Programs at the other two churches and their missions. We have almost 1,000 children, youth and adults, participating in the various programs for sacramental preparation and faith enrichment. My main role is to help coordinate these programs, provide resources, workshops and retreats, and to liaison with the Diocese in Las Cruces.

In our C.I.M. community, I serve as the elected treasurer. That involves bookkeeping, banking, disbursing and reporting of all financial matters that concern our SS.CC. C.I.M. community.

On the national level, I am in ministry as the chairperson of the Sacred Heart Communities in Collaboration (SHCC), a national incorporated organization of more than twenty religious communities of Sisters, Brothers, Priests and Laity who have a common devotion and charism of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Currently, I am on a three-year term as steering committee chairperson and treasurer. I find my triple set of ministries to be quite rewarding and fulfilling, but BUSY!
