Eight years ago, in view of rapid growth in the City of
Edinburg, Texas, FR. MIKE ANNUNZIATO, SS.CC.
anticipated the need for a larger church and began raising
funds. On July 2, 2010, having completed the design and fund
raising, FR. BOB CHARLTON, SS.CC., together
with the New Church Executive Committee, broke ground for the
new church.. After celebrating Eucharist with the parish
community, BISHOP OF BROWNSVILLE DANIEL FLORES
blessed the new church building site on August 21, 2010. In
addition to the parish deacons, GILBERTO LOPEZ
and JOSE SOLIS, parochial vicar FR.
RICHARD LIFRAK, SS.CC., and many parishioners,
FR. ALPHONSUS MCHUGH, SS.CC., from Queen of Peace,
Harlingen, Texas also participated. |
